Hello, I'm Amy.

I grew up in the Irish countryside with a Jack Russell called Holly at my heel. She'd sit in the long grass for hours while I lay on my stomach waiting for a horse to lift its head, or for the light to come back out from behind a cloud. She never once got bored of me. When she passed away in 2024, naming this business after her was the only thing that felt right — every frame here still carries a little of her patience in it.

She taught me that the good photograph nearly always comes to the person willing to wait for it.

I'm entirely self-taught. No studio, no assistant, no borrowed light — just early mornings, wet boots and a camera that has been rained on more times than I'd like to admit. I shoot in the weather that's given to me, which is why the work looks the way it does: soft Irish light, muddy paws, breath in cold air, hay dust caught in a sunbeam.

The faces you'll recognise

Some of the animals here are residents of Forever Home Sanctuary, the small animal sanctuary we run from the same few fields — horses, goats, dogs and a good many very opinionated cats. They all arrived from somewhere harder than here. Some settle in and stay for life; others are only passing through, resting up with us until the right home comes along. Then there are the ones I've met out on the road, in other people's yards and fields, and they're just as welcome in the work.

Photographing them is how I get to know them. You can't rush a nervous pony into trusting a lens, so you sit down, you go quiet, and eventually they come to you. That moment — the one where the ears go forward and the eye softens — is the whole reason I do this.

What your print pays for

A portion of every print sold goes straight back into feed, hay and vet bills for the residents. It isn't an abstract donation to a big organisation — it's the bale in the barn and the farrier's visit next month. Order a print and you're quite literally helping look after the animal in it.

Every order is printed on heavyweight archival paper, checked by hand, signed on the back and packed personally. Framing is available if you'd rather it arrive ready for the wall, and commissions — your own dog, horse, or a stretch of ground that matters to you — are always welcome.
